Located in the Southern Athabasca region, MEG’s Christina Lake Project is a multi-phased project approximately 150 kilometers South of Fort McMurray in Northeast Alberta. Comprised of approximately 200 square kilometers of leases, this SAGD operation currently has regulatory approvals in place to produce approximately 210,000 bpd. All workers will be staying at the state-of-the-art Poplar Ridge Lodge, which boasts a gym, rec area, commissary, laundry facility, Wi-Fi, cable, custom sandwiches, as well as full breakfasts and dinners. We have an amazing, experienced site team at MEG Energy who have safety and efficient work practices at the top of mind. 

 

Jardeg is recruiting a Materials and Tooling Handler join the team at MEG Energy Capital Projects on site near Conklin, Alberta. Temporary full time positions. Embrace a well-balanced schedule, working 8-days on and 6-days off rotation, with each workday consisting of 11 hours.. Drive-in/ drive-out to site with Travel Allowance provided.

  • Currently a $500 ($250 each way) Travel Allowance is offered with the requirement to drive to and from site each shift

 

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule incoming and outgoing shipments to the site location.
  • Escort loads onto site, as required.
  • Complete load assessments of incoming deliveries prior to unload.
  • Unload materials and conduct physical inspections of material, checking for overages, shortages, and damages.
  • Review and log any documentation deficiencies (MTRs, CRNs, etc.)
  • Raise, escalate, and coordinate resolution of overages, shortages, and damages between departments and with the client.
  • Coordinate client supplied material activities and trouble-shooting outstanding client material issues.
  • Coordinate the picking of material as required to compete work packages and deliver to the work face in a timely manner.
  • Appropriately store material according to manufacturers storage guidelines.
  • Ensure material has adequate markings per internal procedures to be clearly identifiable and traceable.
  • Issue and maintain tool and equipment records for parts that leave and are returned to inventory.
  • Tool calibration, repairs, and replacement processes
  • Work with procurement team to order out of stock tools and parts and ensure safety stock is in place.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools/equipment and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Inspect and measure tools and equipment for defects and wear.
  • Locate lost or misplaced tools and equipment, as required.
  • Conduct audits to ensure accuracy of physical inventory
  • Computer entry into Graham's Material Management System's. (Tool Hound)
  • Ensure the weekly maintenance and inspection plans for nnsite Graham vehicles are followed, and maintenance and inspection are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an MTR log with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Coordinate with buyers to expedite materials required at the work site.
  • Engage with construction in 3 weeks look ahead and other planning meetings to ensure a thorough understanding of what material is required, when and where.
  • Coordinating site unloading of heavy / over-size / complex loads.
  • Providing the Quality Representative with advance notification on incoming loads which require ongoing Preservation.
  • Attend site meetings requiring representation from the materials management group.
  • Plan, plot, and manage laydown areas for all materials.
  • During preparation for demobilisation, plan and coordinate surplus material and equipment demobilization.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a construction material receiving role.
  • Familiarisation with material shipping documents and quality records.
  • Competent using computer systems, MS Office Suite, and email communications.
  • Previous experience in a construction environment in the domestic oil and gas industry is preferred.
  • General inventory skills
  • A positive attitude with good customer service skills
