Located in the Southern Athabasca region, MEG’s Christina Lake Project is a multi-phased project approximately 150 kilometers South of Fort McMurray in Northeast Alberta. Comprised of approximately 200 square kilometers of leases, this SAGD operation currently has regulatory approvals in place to produce approximately 210,000 bpd. All workers will be staying at the state-of-the-art Poplar Ridge Lodge, which boasts a gym, rec area, commissary, laundry facility, Wi-Fi, cable, custom sandwiches, as well as full breakfasts and dinners. We have an amazing, experienced site team at MEG Energy who have safety and efficient work practices at the top of mind. 

 

Jardeg is recruiting Carpenter Lead Hand to join the team at MEG Energy Capital Projects on site near Conklin, Alberta. Temporary full-time positions. Embrace a well-balanced schedule, working 15 days on and 6-days off rotation, with each workday consisting of 11 hours. Drive-in/ drive-out to site with Travel Allowance provided.

  • Currently a $500 ($250 each way) Travel Allowance is offered with the requirement to drive to and from site each shift.

 

A lead hand carpenter is responsible for leading a team of carpenters on construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. This includes supervising, coordinating, and performing skilled carpentry work, as well as interpreting blueprints, managing materials, and maintaining safety standards. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Leading and guiding a team of carpenters and other construction workers. 
  • Assigning tasks and coordinating work schedules to ensure efficient project completion. 
  • Providing training and mentorship to junior carpenters. 
  • Monitoring the quality of work and ensuring adherence to project specifications and building codes.
