Jardeg is currently recruiting for a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyperson to work with Technical Workforce Inc. at our Calgary Yard.

 

The schedule for this position is 5 days on and 2 days off. This position is mainly based in the field, working out of service truck in the Yard and on our multiple project sites within Calgary and surrounding areas.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Hands on maintenance and repairs of all civil construction equipment including dozers, articulated trucks, excavators, etc.
  • Running repairs and maintenance work.
  • Replacing components.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
  • Preventive maintenance and services.
  • Complete work according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Work closely with customers maintenance and operations personnel.
  • Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
  • Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations.
  • Complete service reports.
  • Ability to understand hydraulic and electronic schematics.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Provincial Journeyperson or Red Seal Certification in Heavy Equipment Technician trade
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment in a field or a yard 
  • Experience working independently out of a service truck in active construction environments
  • Ability and willingness to travel to multiple job sites and work primarily in the field
  • Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of safe work practices and job site protocols
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Reliable transportation to get to work
