Jardeg is currently recruiting for a Carpenter Journeyperson to join the Buildings team in the city of Calgary!
 
The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday. The shift may include extended hours and weekends, as required by the site.
 
Aa a Journeyperson Carpenter, you will:
 
  • Build forms for concrete
  • Cut, shape, and join
  • Look for and fix deficiencies
  • Building of hoarding and other temporary structures
  • Checks accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
  • Studies blueprints for work planning
  • Constructs and forms chutes for pouring concrete
  • Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
  • Acts as a work leader and mentors to apprentice carpenters
  • Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
  • Perform labourer duties in addition to carpentry work
  • General site upkeep
 
Requirements:
 
  • Preference will be given to a Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade 
  • Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
  • Fall Protection is an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
