Jardeg has an Expression of Interest for Apprentice and Journeypersons Carpenters for upcoming Infrastructure and Water projects with Technical Workforce Inc. in the Calgary area for the next 4 years
 
These positions have a 5 days on and 2 days off schedule with the possibility of working afternoons, evenings, and weekends. At this time, only local candidates or candidates willing to relocate will be considered. 
 
As a Carpenter Journeyperson, you will:
 
  • Build forms for concrete 
  • Cut, shape, and join
  • Look for and fix deficiencies
  • Check accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
  • Study blueprints or work planning
  • Construct and form chutes for pouring concrete
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
  • Act as a work leader and mentors to apprentice carpenters
  • Inform immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
  • General site upkeep
 
Minimum Requirements:
 
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Carpenter Journeyperson Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
  • Experience with concrete formwork required
  • Previous experience working at a water infrastructure project is an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to work
