Jardeg is currently recruiting for Carpenter Apprentices to work with our Airport Trail Project team in Calgary!
 
The schedule for this position is 5 days on 2 days off; Monday to Friday. There may be a chance to work overtime (this may include extended hours/ weekends and night shift) if site requires.
 
As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will:
 
  • Assist in building forms for concrete
  • Cut, shape, and join specialty materials per specifications
  • Look for and fix deficiencies
  • Check accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
  • Study blueprints for work planning
  • Construct and forms chutes for pouring concrete
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
  • Inform immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
  • Loading/unloading materials
  • Perform labourer duties in addition to carpentry work
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas; remove debris and hazards; support end-of-shift cleanup
 
Requirements:
 
  • Preference will be given to Registered Carpenter Apprentice from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Non-registered carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade 
  • Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
  • Fall Protection is an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
