Tickets Required for Entry: CSO or eGSO - Common Safety Orientation; CSTS-09/ CSTS-2020 - Construction Safety Training Systems; Journeyperson; WHMIS 2015; Wildlife/Bear Awareness 

Site Specific Details: Drivers License; CSA Steel Toe Boots; Drivers Abstracts; Long Sleeves/Long Pants 

  • If worker was on modified light duties in the past twelve months, you must have full clearance from doctor to return to full duties.

  • If eligible for subsistence, it will be paid providing two approved proof of residence documents are received during the onboarding process.   • Subject to change; all Pipefitter and Boilermaker Welders will require a weld test prior to arriving on site. The mandatory requirements for the weld tests are that the member must bring all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to complete the weld test. Comments/Site Specific Details: Rate - $53.16 Must have the following: • 3-5 years dealer or fleet maintenance shop. Ford and GM truck experience is necessary • Techs will be expected to diagnose and repair electrical and drivability • Diagnose and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, 4x4 systems, and brakes • Assemble and disassemble components as needed during repairs • Performing scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune ups • Complete repairs as per estimates completed in a timely fashion • Maintain high quality of workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols • Maintaining and repairing a fleet of 350+ trucks • Work well with others and willing to help apprentices • Follow and comply with all health, safety, environmental, and HR procedures

Position Scope

BFI is looking for an Automotive technician to join our team at our Mildred Lake Shop in Fort McMurray.

 

Site: Mildred Lake Shop

Hourly Rate: $53.16

Shift schedule: 14 days on 14 days off

Accommodations: Local hire only

Experience Required: 

  • 3-5 years dealer or fleet maintenance shop. Ford and GM truck experience is necessary
  • Techs will be expected to diagnose and repair electrical and drivability

All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:

  • CSTS-09 or CSTS 2020
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Wildlife/Bear Awareness
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Valid class 5 Driver's License
  • Drivers abstract - must be a minimum of 3 years and within 30 days
  • Other certification may be required based on site requirements

 

Successful candidates must:

  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test
    • Fit for Work Test
    • Vision Test

 

Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.
